Mission Statement:
With the help of the Holy Trinity and our Blessed Mother, Mary, the Respect Life ministry strives to provide support, prayer and education on all life issues to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish. Our goal is to obtain wisdom through truth in order to share with individuals and other organizations in our parish. Everyone is welcome to join this ministry for the vulnerable and defenseless.
Monthly Meetings:
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. at “The House”. St. Mary parishioners interested in advancing the moral teachings of our Catholic church in matters of Life are invited to attend.
Monthly Information Tables and Bake Sales:
St. Mary’s Respect Life holds a bake sale after all morning Masses on the second Sunday of each month from September through May. Adjoining the bake sale tables are pro-life information tables containing life-size fetal models and other pro-life information.
Ministry Projects:
Our Respect Life projects include a Baby Bottle Drive, Advent Giving Tree, Lenten Giving Cross and participation with the 40 Days for Life campaign (www.40daysforlife.com). In addition, we have a joint project with St. Mary’s St. Vincent de Paul Society to provide diapers and infant formula to families in need.
We provide financial support locally to 1st Way Pregnancy Support Center, Aid to Women Center, Maggie’s Place, Arizona Right to Life, and Virtue Media. Several national pro-life organizations receive donations, also.
Prayer Group and Rosary at Chandler Planned Parenthood:
Our Lady of Life Prayer Group meets every Thursday from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. in the chapel, praying for the unborn and for God’s mercy. All are invited to join us for Benediction, Rosary and Veneration of Relics. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed during Lent and Easter.
